Hanover County lies north of Richmond, VA, and is spread over more than 470 square miles of great country. With over 102,000 proud residents, Hanover County's population is larger than nearby Goochland and Powhatan Counties combined. Hanover County offers extensive parkland as well as many protected areas and woodlands perfect for hiking, fishing, biking, camping, and other outdoor activities. The town of Ashland holds a number of local parks- Railside Park, Carter Park, and North Ashland Park.
